Interbank’s Strategy day – January 2019

On Saturday our Committee meet at our Member offices Accenture in the City of London for our 2019 Away Day strategy meeting. We’ve discussed some great ideas and strategies we will follow throughout this year and we are very excited!

A calendar of events and all what we do as Interbank and our Member firms individually, will be a key part of our strategy for 2019.

We very much look forward to working with our LGBT partners, straight allies, charities and many other individuals and organisations. We also hope to expand our networking evenings making them more inclusive and two of them will be charitable events and have guest speakers!

We will be publishing further information on all what we do, and when in due course, but if you want to know more information or would like to know how Interbank works, or are thinking of joining us, get in touch today!

We’ve included a few photos of our Away Day and some photos of Accenture’s rather cool offices! The team were particularly impressed with the red telephone meeting pods and the indoor themed garden! Thank you Accenture for your wonderful hospitality!

Interbank at London Pride 2018

The 7th July London hosted the fabulous annual Pride March. A day to celebrate the diversiveness of London and the LGBT+ community. Interbank Members and colleagues took part in the parade, as did many of our banks and financial service members under their own brand names. It was a wonderful day. Here’s just a few of the photos to remember the day 🏳️‍🌈❤🏳️‍🌈❤🏳️‍🌈❤🏳️‍🌈 #pridelondon2018 #interbankpride2018 #pridematters

LGBT rights in the United Kingdom – 27th July 2017

Today marks a very special occasion in the history of LGBT rights in the United Kingdom. On this day 50 years ago, the British government passed a law to decriminalise homosexuality.

Many of our colleagues and friends will be too young to remember the challenges LGBT+ people faced before the law was changed. Similarly, many more of us often forget the struggles LGBT endured before the ban was lifted and take for granted the lifestyles we enjoy today. However, we should never forget the many courageous individuals who fought for LGBT+ equality and influenced the changes we enjoy today, we have much to thank them for.

Whilst we mark five decades of LGBT equality here in the UK, let us also recognise that in many countries in the world, life for LGBT+ people is very different and they do not enjoy the same levels of equality and freedoms that we have here. Changes announced in the USA yesterday also underpin how quickly things can change, so its important that each of us continues to champion diversity, inclusion and equality in as many ways as we can.
