Transgender Day Of Remembrance 2021

As part of Trans Awareness Week leading up to Transgender Day of Remembrance, this Saturday 20 November we would like to share a personal story from one of our own Interbank members. In this interview you’ll hear from Laura Laing, a member of our Inclusion Sub-Committee and meet her brother, Eli who shares his experience and journey of coming out as a Trans Man. Their LGBT+ sister and brother dynamic is an inspiring and educational insight we are pleased to share and support.

“I think it’s really important to pay attention to what trans people are actually saying and what they’re asking for… a lot of the time it’s just respect for name and pronouns” – Eli Moore

Interbank has organised a virtual networking event, taking place 24th March, Wednesday, 7pm. You might have attended one of Interbank’s popular monthly networking evenings in a bar in the City or Canary Wharf. As we still cannot meet in a crowded place we decided to put together an online get together.

The Interbank professional networking events offer an opportunity to meet and socialise with other LGBTQ+ people working within financial services, in an informal business environment.

Please register and closer to the date you will get an email with the Zoom details for the event. On the day you will be put in breakout rooms in Zoom so you can network with other participants. BYOB.

Everyone is welcome and we continue to focus on encouraging our Women+ members to attend as part of a drive to increase presence and visibility. This month we would like to highlight Women’s history month.

We would like to raise funds for Opening Doors London (ODL) charity at this event. Please donate in link below before the event and add your name so you can participate in the raffle. ODL is the largest UK charity providing activities, events, information and support services specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, non-binary or gender fluid (LGBTQ+) people over 50.https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/interbank-virtual-networking-march

We will have a raffle at the end of the event with some special prizes!

We’ll see you there!

Friends, partners and allies welcome as always.

LesbiAn visibility week

Very proud that some of our Interbank committee members hosted and took part in a panel for #LesbianVisibilityWeek focusing on the importance of women within LGBTQI networks and how powerful this is. During the panel they share the great progress we have made within Interbank and how they are addressing this within their own firms. The recorded session is now live – check it out on the Lesbian Visibility Website!
