We are delighted to announce that the Interbank LGBT Forum has voted for PACE to be its chosen charity for 2014.
PACE provides a range of holistic support services for LGBT people, with the aim of improving wellbeing and inspiring better LGBT mental health. The charity has been in existence since 1985, and has provided thousands of service users support through counselling, advocacy and group work. PACE also offer online counselling and have an active online peer support community.
PACE Head of Communications, Ruth Overton said of the Interbank support ‘This is a fantastic surprise! We look forward to working with the Interbank LGBT Forum to raise some essential funds for the work we do to support LGBT clients as well as to raise the profile of PACE. We want to let LGBT people know who we are and what support we can offer
Like staying physically fit and well, keeping good mental health is important too – we all have times when that can be hard and that’s where PACE can help. We aim to create safe spaces where LGBT people can get some support, either face to face or online. Whether it’s about how to negotiate better relationships; coming out; managing your own mental health; dealing with domestic abuse; mental health advocacy; youth counselling – our counselling, group work and advocacy services have seen LGBT people coming to us for nearly 30 years. Recent funding cuts have had an impact and so being chosen as charity for 2014 will really help to keep vital PACE services going this year.’
